Birds
A paradise for birdwatching: herons, jabirus, stone-curlews, ibis and dozens of species in their natural habitat.
An expedition through the biodiversity of the Eastern Plains, with guides who have years of experience.
Thanks to the extraordinary biodiversity of the Eastern Plains, the Llanos safari at Juan Solito Ecolodge takes you on a safe expedition across the Casanare savanna, right in the heart of the Hato La Aurora Nature Reserve.
We travel through controlled terrain aboard a llanero jeep, with every safety guarantee, to watch wildlife roaming free. Along the way it is common to come across capybaras, white-tailed deer, spectacled caimans, cattle and criollo horses, as well as herons, jabirus, stone-curlews, burrowing owls, guereres and a great variety of ibis — a privileged destination for birdwatching in Colombia.
Before setting off you get a briefing on the safety rules so you can enjoy the ride with peace of mind. You are accompanied by local guides with years of experience and a deep knowledge of the Llanos and their wildlife.
